Lauren Keyson, Founder & Publisher
Lauren works with startup and first stage technology companies in her own publishing firm specializing in social media and website content. Starting out as the editor for the California-based financial publication Buyside Magazine and for various Northern California Business Journals, she moved to New York City to work on Wall Street as the Vice President of Publishing for the financial research and data company Multex.com (now owned by Reuters) and later for Instinet, the broker-dealer. She has her B.A. from U.C. Berkeley, her AS in Web Development from IADT, and a Publishing Certificate from Stanford University. She is a Venture in Residence at NYIT Entrepreneurial Center, UC Berkeley Graduate School Advisory Board Member, UC Berkeley Alumni Club of NY Communications Officer.
Victor L. Lee
Victor Lee has been at the intersection of media and technology his entire career. As CEO of Disruptive Technologists, Victor works with Founder & Publisher Lauren Keyson to build the community, develop partners and sponsors, and stay abreast of the technologies and technologists disrupting every element of our lives.
Victor has been involved with disruptive technologies since he learned to program his high school’s computer the same year the Apple II was introduced (but who’s counting?).
As President of StoneHorse Enterprises, Victor helps digital marketers use cognitive technology – artificial intelligence and machine learning. He was COO of Nomad Editions, a start-up publisher of lifestyle content for the iPad – including food & wine, entertainment and more.
Victor started as an M&A investment banker on Wall St., then held finance positions at IBM, PepsiCo, and Time Inc. He earned JD and MBA degrees from Columbia University and a B.A. from Harvard University.
Mahbubur Rahman, Co-Organizer
An undergraduate student at New York Institute of Technology majoring in Computer Science. Interested in software development on all platforms.
John Atwood, Editor
Associate Managing Editor for CCH Washington Service Bureau Inc.; publications include: SEC Today, SEC Filings Insight, International Securities and Financial Reporting Update, SEC No-Action Letter Weekly, SEC New Registrations Report. He has a BA from University of Virginia.
Dana Stevens, Project Manager
Dana has over thirteen years of experience as a Vice President and Director focusing on cost reduction, globalization, strategic planning, process analysis, and excellence in project management while increasing customer and employee satisfaction. She has a BS degree in Engineering from UC Berkeley and a MS in Computer Science from Columbia University.
Coco Kee, Columnist
Coco Kee is the Co-founder of KGA, a New York-based advisory firm. She is a U.S. – China business and investment advocate and practitioner with more than 20 years of first-hand experience in cross-border business. Coco holds B.A. and M.A. from Beijing University majoring in English and American literature and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley with focus on entrepreneurship and high-tech marketing & commercialization.
Christopher Mahon, Columnist
Christopher Mahon is a writer and essayist living in New York. He currently works as the Managing Editor at Outer Places. In his free time he runs The Occult Triangle Lab, a blog on trigonometry, sci-fi/fantasy, and ungodly amounts of milk. Follow him on Twitter @DeadmanMu.
Diane Dean, Event Manager
Diane is a lifelong tech enthusiast, learner and information connoisseur who consults, coaches and trains nonprofit emerging leaders. She has an extensive background in the academic and nonprofit sectors. Believing that learning is an ongoing pursuit, Diane has at this stage in her life, taken the opportunity to learn how to code. Amanjeet Singh, Podcast Director
Amanjeet is an undergraduate student at NYIT, majoring in electrical and computer engineering. He also works as an International Student Ambassador at the college and has served as the Senator & President of South Asian Student Association where he planned events, managed social media and organized various national level school competitions.
Kelly Crowley, Intern
Kelly is an undergraduate student at New York Institute of Technology studying Hospitality Management. She has a passion for planning events, and enjoys meeting new people through new experiences.
Donna Hollins, Director of Operations
Donna Hollins is a seasoned professional bringing more than a decade of experience in both North America and Europe. She has an MBA from Babson College with focus on entrepreneurship and innovation.
Zak Niazi, CTO
Zak Niazi has experience in technical and business domains including optical engineering projects: an ultrathin endoscope for Harvard Medical School; a high powered laser for the University of Sydney, and a device to measure defects in optics for a company called Sydor. He has a B.S. in Optical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
Louis Fico, Web Developer
Computer programming major turned web developer. After obtaining a BA in Interactive Digital Design from Quinnipiac University, he is now developer in video editing to OOP in Actionscript to browser scripting.
